The SCAMPI procedure requires at least one draft findings session. However, it is best if there are two or more draft findings sessions. One session should be for practitioners, and the second should be for project, middle, and senior managers (but not the assessment sponsor). If there is concern that project managers cannot be entirely open around senior managers, this second session may be divided into twoone for the project managers and another for senior managers.
Practitioner Draft Findings Meetings
The suggestions of technical participants are usually helpful, and they range from word changes to clarification of concepts. In general, practitioners have a great deal to gain if the team can convey to upper management what is really working and what isn’t working in their organization. Technical participants, therefore, usually try hard to work with the assessment team.
